Statement

My thoughts are first and foremost with the victim. What they have endured is unimaginable, and I know the whole community will join me in wishing them strength, safety and a full recovery. No one in Nuneaton or anywhere should ever have to experience such harm.

I want to pay tribute to Warwickshire Police for their swift, decisive response and the professionalism they showed throughout this deeply distressing case. Their work - from the initial emergency response to the detailed investigation that followed - has ensured that the offender has been brought to justice.

This incident has understandably caused anger locally, but the focus must remain on supporting the victim and reaffirming our shared commitment to keeping Nuneaton safe. I will continue working closely with Ministerial colleagues and local partners to ensure our community remains a place where people feel protected, supported and safe.
